  • Rob MacKillop — Rob’s website is invaluable resource on no-nails playing, with technical information, historical research, interviews, recordings, and more. Those of us who today play without nails owe more to Rob than any other guitarist around. A legend, without a doubt. Also check out his YouTube channel.
  • Emilio Pujol’s The Dilemma of Timbre on the Guitar
  • You can find a number of videos on no-nail playing if you scroll through Brandon Acker’s YouTube channel. A fairly recent convert to no-nails, he has made both performance and discussions videos that are well worth watching.
  • A YouTube playlist showcasing various no-nail players.
  • My YouTube channel. There are lots of my recordings, as well as a few videos discussing no-nails playing.
  • An article on Classical Guitar Corner about playing without nails.
  • TouchTheSound Project — This is not directly about playing without nails, but is nevertheless highly relevant. It is all about exploring the interactions between players and (usually historic) guitars, especially with regards to how tactile perception relates to the sound.

On YouTube Sound Guitar Lessons With Jared, has a series of four lessons on how to play without nails and several others. Sadly Jared has recently gone back to nails, but it doesn’t deny his great videos on exactly how to do it.

I found Brandon Acker’s No Nails course a waste. One good video. However, other videos on YouTube cover the same information.

The same can be said of his Learn the Classical Guitar course. I purchased it and changed to CGC having wasted my money.

I did hear from someone else recently who found it useful; I really can’t comment myself, having not seen any of it. Sorry to hear it wasn’t useful for you. CGC seems good from what I’ve seen; they did a fair article on no-nail playing recently, actually.
